As saints of God we surrender to His will and demands. We are obedient to the word.

Why Greater St. Peter’s?

Greater St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church is one big family governed by the salvation of Christ. All members and staff work together in fellowship.

Greater St. Peter’s glorifies our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ every Sunday. The men’s choir, children’s choir, mass choir, and praise dancers stir up the Holy Ghost with praise.

Pastor Fred Thomas III incorporated an early word service. Greater St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church has two Sunday worship services.

Preaching and Teaching

Members and visitors get a treat every Sunday. God’s word is first delivered through teaching of scripture and then the Holy Ghost is called upon for a little preaching.

Discover Our Church

For the past twenty three years, Reverend Fred Thomas, III has served as Pastor of the Greater Saint Peter’s Baptist Church. The church has tremendously prospered under Pastor Thomas’ illustrious leadership. Although he was born in Brenham, Texas (near Hempstead) and later lived a few years overseas while serving in the United States Army, Pastor Thomas has spent all his life in Hempstead since infancy. He is the oldest of fourteen children born to Bertha Lee Thomas-Jones and the late Fred Thomas, Jr.
Pastor Thomas was baptized at Greater Saint Peters Baptist Church in April of 1971, accepting Christ as his personal Savior. On February 24, 1974, at the age of twenty-eight (28) the Spirit of the Lord came upon Pastor Thomas, and God called him into the ministry.
